A Different Approach, Using a New Method

Grid-Forming Inverters: Grid-forming inverters are a critical development for integrating renewable energy into the grid. Unlike traditional grid-following inverters, grid-forming inverters can restart a downed grid and provide stability by generating their own voltage and frequency. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is heavily investing in the development and demonstration of these inverters to support a decarbonized grid by 2035 (Solar Power World).
